Title: A Psalm of the Girl Next Door
I am the girl next door,
ordinary, yet unique,
for I was forged from suffering,
from pain that became the song of fate.
My body bears the marks of struggle,
my soul, though sometimes weary,
still moves toward the sun,
to find meaning amid the night.
Illness has become my shadow,
yet it does not steal my dreams,
where thoughts are a cathedral of hope,
a day built upon the rock.
I have plans as vast as the sky,
filled with stars of longing and desire.
I am not afraid to look to the future,
for I know tomorrow carries new life.
In childhood dreams I dance in fields,
where the wind sings a hymn of freedom,
and the sun wraps the world in warmth,
whispering: You are enough.
I cherish the moment as it burns bright.
Sometimes I hide it in my hands,
like fragile light I cradle,
for it is this that gives me courage.
I no longer ask, Why me?
And even if the ordeal is long,
a glance at the sky reminds me
that I was given a second chance.
Let this psalm be a testimony,
a non-prayer in seconds of dread.
Let it ring like a bell of hope
that cries: You will endure, because you are strong.
