Title: And the Leaves Fall, and Love Withered

It was love like a leaf from an autumn tree –

beautiful for a moment, playing with the wind,

sparkling gold under the cool sun,

but it fell silently, as if it had never been.

I used to weave into our days

the glow of September mornings,

when the damp dew transformed the world into a reflection,

so gentle, so momentary –

but what remains when the leaves crumble?

Now only the rustle underfoot,

this dusty trail of old colors.

Without you, emptiness trembles in the bare branches,

and the wind carries away the remnants of words that remain.
