KAŽU – NE SANJARI

Kažu – ne sanjari,

spusti se na zemlju,

život je začarano kolo,

težak i tvrd.

A ja – pjesnička duša,

u srcu svom sam otkrila

sve ljubavi svijeta,

skrivene poput iskri u tami.

Ne mogu pokleknuti pred sebičnošću,

jer bi me neiskrenost razotkrila

kao lomljivu masku

što ne podnosi svjetlost istine.

Kažu – svijet je hladan,

mržnja u zraku lebdi.

A moje oči vide

ranjene duše,

što u vapaju traže

jedno bolje sutra.

I znam –

dok god u meni plamti riječ,

dok god u meni gori san,

neću prestati vjerovati

u ljudskost

i u ljubav koja nikada

ne umire.

THEY SAY – DON’T DREAM

They say – don’t dream,

come back down to earth,

life is an enchanted circle,

heavy and hard.

And I – a poetic soul,

have discovered in my heart

all the loves of the world,

hidden like sparks in the dark.

I cannot bow to selfishness,

for dishonesty would expose me

as a fragile mask

that cannot endure the light of truth.

They say – the world is cold,

hatred drifts through the air.

But my eyes see

wounded souls

who, in their cry, seek

a better tomorrow.

And I know –

as long as a word burns within me,

as long as a dream still flames in my being,

I will not stop believing

in humanity

and in love

that never

dies.
