Title: The Frosty Breath of Winter
It creaks at dawn and late at night,
covering the glass with its polish.
Along with the cold wind, they tease spring,
when nature slumbers delightfully.
It likes to paint landscapes in windows,
to glaze on the river and in icicles.
Usually, it has a grand flourish in February,
sometimes it eases, but little by little.
It awakens the sky with its crisp air,
turns silver snowflakes into crystals.
It lashes the fields and meadows with cold,
sometimes dividing the water into quarters.
And, as winter draws to a close,
orchards swell with fresh greenery.
The sun warms the frozen leaves,
which bloom beautifully on the trees.
