Title: In spite of everything – in my own way
I don't regret being a rebel,
for rushing into the world
with wind-tangled hair
and thoughts that refuse to stay in one line.
I don't regret not being able
to fit into patterns,
that boundaries irritate me,
and "it's not appropriate" sounds like an alien prayer.
I don't regret years spent in solitude,
silence filled with conversations with shadows.
For giving my own happiness to others,
sometimes too boldly, but always in my own way,
and bearing suffering because I believe it's worth it.
I don't regret opening my eyes
when others close them,
even if the painful light paralyzes the pupils.
I don't regret being able to say:
I see you, woman, strong, tired, imperfect,
but true.
Your I don't regret, is your freedom.
