شَـغَـلَتْنِي عَــنِ الـكَـرَی ذِكْـرَاهَـا

وَفُـــــؤَادِي أَحَــبَّــهَـا وَرَجَــاهَــا

يَـــا لَـهَـا مِــنْ غَـضَـاضَةٍ وَبَـهَـاءٍ

ضَــاقَ صَـدْرِي بِـوُدِّهَا وَجَـوَاهَا

قَـبْـلَهَا مَــا رَأَيْــتُ مِـثْـلَ رُوَاهَـا

بَـعْدَهَا مَـا رَأَيْـتُ حُـسْنًا سِوَاهَا

مِـنْ قَرِيبٍ تَشَعْشَعَ الضَّوءُ مِنْهَا

مِــــن بَــعِـيـدٍ جَـمَـالُـهَا أَدْنَــاهَـا

كَــمْ طَـمِيسٍ صَـغَا إِلَـيْهَا فَـقَالَ

لَـيْـتَـنِي مَـــا لِـمُـقْلَتِي لَا تَـرَاهَـا

ذِي فَـتَاةٌ بِبَسْمِهَا الشَّمْسُ تَجْلُو

إِنَّ بِـالـطِّـيبِ كَـالـقَـرَنْفُلِ فَــاهَـا

تَـيَّـمَـتْنِي بِـمُـقْـلَتَي ذَاتِ سِـحْـرٍ

فَـاسْـاَلُوهَا مَــا طِـبُّـهَا وَدَوَاهَـا؟

إِنْ جَـزَتْـنِي بِـمِـثْلِ وُدِّي كَـفَانِي

فَــدَعُــونِـي أَنَــالُـهَـا وَرِضَــاهَــا

وَفُــؤَادِي فَـكَـمْ أَتَـانِـي بِـوَحْـيٍ

مِـنْ إِلٰهِـي بِـأَنَّ لِـي قَـدْ قَـضَاهَا

إِنْ بِـقَـوْلِـي "أُحِـبُّـهَـا" أَيُّ ذَنْــبٍ

أَنَا سُلْطَانُ الذَّنْبِ سِجْنِي يَدَاهَا

LINES OF LOVE

Her memory occupies my sleepless nights,  

My heart has loved her and awaits her lights.

Such tenderness and brightness she bears,

Her love fills my chest, and her affection sincere.

Never before had I seen such prettiness,

After her, nothing else seems to possess beauty.

Nearby, light radiates from her,

From afar, her beauty draws near, her face.

Blind eyes have heard from her and yearned to see,

"I wish my eyes could behold her," they plea.

A maiden whose smile shines like the sun,

Her mouth exudes fragrance, like clove spun.

She enchanted me with her magical gaze,

So ask her, what is her medicine and her cure?

If she reciprocates my love, it suffices me,

So let me achieve her acceptance and satisfaction.

Many times, my heart has whispered clear,

From God above, that she's destined for me.

If loving her is a sin,

so let it be, In her hands, my prison, my plea.
