Embracing Solitude
In this world, we stand alone,
so far from the crowd, a million miles our own,
Tired of solitude's heavy shroud,
but it's better here than pride overblown.
I'd rather walk the path unknown,
than join the haughty, egos prone.
For if I return to what's forsworn,
my eyes might never truly see,
Though it feels like I'm the only one,
I've learned to love myself, carefree.
In public spaces, I'm lost and spun,
yet find solace in anonymity,
Alone among the many, I've won,
embracing both the "I" and "we."
I've come to cherish solitude's embrace,
like rain on virgin earth's terrain,
Where fiery drops meet gentle grace,
inhaling loneliness, there's no disdain.
The world's a place of vast,
diverse space, and within it, I remain,
Alone and together, a beautiful chase,
where love and self are one's domain.
