Title: Breath Without a Name
They come from somewhere.
They start with small gestures,
light glances, words that weigh nothing.
I feel hope rising
that maybe this time it's something important.
I open the door,
show the farthest corners of my mind.
They enter, stay for a moment.
They tidy up or tear down,
sometimes they just leave their breath
on the windowpane and leave.
This empty space strangely matching their shadow.
I wonder: maybe it's my fault?
Quickly, easily, strongly
I believed in a warmth
that was never meant to be mine..
But I have no one left
to tell this to..
