The Turquoise Sea of Her Eyes
Caught, I stared at her amazing blue eyes,
A world of emotion where mystery lies.
Floating in seas of turquoise so deep,
Her gaze, a secret I wished to keep.
Her eyes were vast, enough to contain,
All of life’s joy, its sorrow, its pain.
With serene brutality, they held sway,
Intoxicating madness led me astray.
Endless and wild, they could never be caught,
Defying all reason, defying all thought.
I was astounded, her glance so bright,
A vibrant spark in the dim of night.
Ashamed to admit I was left speechless,
The words that I knew, suddenly useless.
In front of the stranger who felt so near,
Her yawning gesture made my breath disappear.
Mesmerized, I ventured her soul to seek,
Through her eyes, though I dared not speak.
A question rose from deep in my chest,
But fear of folly silenced my quest.
I closed my mouth, too afraid to try,
Looked away, and whispered, "Goodbye."
